The Centre for Deaf Studies at the University of Bristol is currently undertaking research funded by the Leverhulme Trust into issues surrounding genetic engineering and Deaf/Disabled people.

A conference 'Sleepwalking Into Eugenics?' will be held in Bristol on November 10th 2012. This will present the findings and invite discussion as to what should be the next steps in researching and development of these issues.

The research findings will be presented by Drs Steve Emery and Paddy Ladd who have led the study. We are honoured to have Gregor Wolbring, Associate Professor at the University of Calgary, as our guest speaker.

The conference will take place at the MShed which in the centre of Bristol from 9am till 4pm.
